On Sunday, October 13th, several members and non members enjoyed a lovely afternoon jaunt south to Millbrook, New York!
We toured the Millbrook Winery, tasted some wonderful wines and stopped for a meal in the Tavern Room at the Beekman Arms, the oldest inn in America, operating continuously since 1766.
LUNCH AT THE BEEKMAN ARMS
These were the meal choices:
DUTCH STYLE TURKEY POT PIE (roasted turkey, cheddar bay biscuit, local farm mushrooms, roasted vegetables)
YANKEE POT ROAST (tender, mouth-watering short ribs with baby vegetables)
BAKED CRABMEAT STUFFED SHRIMP (basmati rice, fresh seasonal vegetables)
Dessert was Apple Strudel topped with creme anglaise. Coffee, tea, iced tea and soda were included. Cash bar was available.
THE MILLBROOK VINEYARDS & WINERY
Voted the “Best Winery in New York’s Hudson Valley” for over 20 years, the Millbrook Vineyards guided tour should not be missed! You may sample wines and olive oils paired with wine biscuits, taking home a complimentary wine glass for your collection!
Cost of the trip was all-inclusive: round-trip motor coach, lunch, wine tasting & tour, gratuities and a tax deductible $10.00 donation to the Albany Symphony.
