In recent years, Vanguard members have:
- Raised nearly $1,000,000 for the Albany Symphony
- Sponsored Symphony concerts and events such as Evening in Vienna
- Hosted Jazz Brunches, Shrimp Boils, Salons, and special luncheons
- Organized adventurous day trips throughout the Capital Region and beyond
- Assisted the Albany Symphony office with major projects
- Collected and placed 900 gently used instruments across 8 local school districts so more children can participate in music programs
